Contract Administrator

ALFA Tech, Inc. is seeking an applicant for a Contract Administrator to work as a contract employee within
a Federal agency. This position is located at Washington, DC.

Essential Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business administrative or related field
  • Must have five to seven years of government contracts experience working in an
    office environment
  • Be able to operate with minimal supervision
  • Provide “cradle to grave” contract administrative experience
  • Prepare initial request for information, proposals and quotations (RFI/RFP/RFQ)
  • Proposal evaluation, awards and protest
  • Manage contract performance in accordance with applicable terms and conditions
    using several types of contracts (FFP/T&M)
  • Apply a working knowledge of established Federal government policies, guidelines
    and procedures for effective contract management
  • Apply a proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel as well as familiarity with database software
  • Be able to work with clients, peers and management in a highly visible, mission critical environment
  • Required full time hours for at least six months and possibly twelve months

Position Objective

To assist government personnel in responding to FOIA requests, assuring that the responses are in full compliance
with all applicable laws and regulations, and to assist manage the FOIA-related operations of the office. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Selects, assembles, summarizes and compiles substantive information including statutes, regulations,
    orders, digests, commentaries, legal instruments and other legal reference material;
  • Reviews all investigative materials compiled and examines and evaluates requests for information
    under the Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts; researches relevant legislation, regulations, 
    and precedents and determines if documents or portions of them can be released.
  • Assures that documents are reviewed and the appropriate FOIA/PA exemption(s) is applied;
  • Consults with other Federal agencies regarding the Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts regulations
    and related requests, and coordinates related lawsuits with personnel attorneys of other agencies;
  • Evaluates and analyzes pertinent facts; coordinated information and materials from multiple sources
    in order to meet established deadlines;
  • Assists in maintaining and monitoring the FOIA electronic and manual tracking systems, entering names and
    personal data received from requesters, assigning FOIA/PA numbers, entering FOIA exemptions into a database;
  • Assists in the administration of FOIA, including preparing periodic FOIA/PA status reports, and preparing file
    labels for FOIA/PA folders.

  • One of the following is required: (a) a certificate of completion or a degree from an approved
    paralegal program or post-secondary institution; (b) Bachelor’s degree or (c ) J.D. degree
